POLL: Can your zodiac sign have an effect on your relationship?  posted: 08/23/04 at 10:44 PM

Greetings Everyone,
I've always been interested in astrology but not to the point of totally believing in them. I just find it interesting sometimes to read the different compatibility reports on each sign. I'm also aware that one cannot go on sunsign alone, and sometimes have to check for the moonsign as well.
I'm sure some of you might think: "What the? What is this woman talking about?" LOL
Well, I've often wondered if any of this could possibly be effecting one's relationship on one or more levels. I've had some pretty nasty and not so pleasant relationships in the past and when I checked for the compatibility, most of what was said, was true and that I did in fact had problems in different areas in the relationship because of the fact that we weren't compatible...
Yes yes I know, if you love someone or it's true love, then zodiacs don't matter...but have any of you ever had this in your relationships?
And it seems I only attract certain types of zodiac signs namely: Aries (most of the time), Scorpio (When I'm lucky), and Leo (Oh boy, but it never lasts long) and sometimes a few from the other signs...but I basically get more attention from the above 3 signs...
But, the compatibility reports aren't really that positive...and believe me, I do not apply them to my relationship...just asking because I'm curious.

| Basically I agree with you. I attract Geminis and Libras all the time, even online (I'm an Aquarius and yes, compatible to those 2 signs). 1 of the longest relationships I've had in my life was with a Scorpio (NOT compatible) and it ended for the reasons all the astrology books state: he was too much for me and suffocated me and the differences in our personalities were there from the beginning. So yes, I do believe there's an influence. But knowing that a sign is incompatible to mine has never stopped me from forming a relationship with them. LOL maybe it should:P

I have read about how well me and my love are compatible or not, and we are, yay, lol. But I dont really think that you could trust that.
I have an ex boyfriend that I was compatible with to almost 100%, but we werent made for each other, as people understand, because as I said, its my ex.
I would never brake up or not go for someone that I like just because I read that we are not compatible.

| What really infuriates me about some astrolgists is how they take advantage of some people when they are at a very low ebb in their lives. I'm not so easliy taken in by these people but some poor souls are. And it makes me soooooo mad to see how unscrupulous people can use other peoples downs for their own monitary gains. I hope they reap their rewards in hell. This is how strongly I feel. Reasons. I knew a mother who was looking at losing her son through a possibly terminal illness. She was taken in. Oh I'm moving off this thread. I'm just getting mad sitting here thinking about it.

| Hmm have to be honest i think my best relationships were ones I was compatible with zodiac wise...while the ones that were no no's happened to be my worst relationships.

Yes, I do believe that if one has the whole natal chart of each of the parties, it can truly be read for compatabilities and danger points in teh relationship.
I also believe that some signs, no matter what their rising signs, where their houses fall, etc, should NOT and I repeat NOT be together, lol. Virgo and Leos for one, lol~ what a deadly mix!
I am a Virgo and my knight is a Scorpio....wow, talk about a Scorpio's passion, whew, something else, I tell ya I have Scorpio rising, and we are well matched.
So yes, I do believe the zodiac has some bearing. I have gotten great insight to myself and my partners by having a professional draw up a natal compatability report. Too bad I didn't do it with the Leos............never again a Leo, lol!

Uhhhh sorry I know nothing about Zodiac....
I'm Jan. 19... I'm a Cappy?
I did take a test once with SO and some of the analysis was spot on! Hard to tell if it's true though, or the answers pick traits that would fit everyone at some point you know???
i.e. Yes I am stubborn (as Cappies usually are) yet very laid back.....

OH yes I do believe that someone's Zodiac sign can affect the relationship.
I'm a 100% Gemini. Humorous, outgoing, and love to communicate on an intellectual levels with guys.
Virgo's in my opinion are conservative ,analytical ,and shy.
I'm currently in Love with a Virgo. My Virgo guy is smart, and we both appreciate the virtue of intelligence.
Were compatible, although we have our differences .

| I seem to attract either Air signs or Fire signs. I think it can affect it somewhat depending on what types of personalitys clash or mesh. I normally don't believe it though from taking a signs test. I think really it is about how well the people can get along that the signs get together.

I definitely think that zodiac signs play a part in whether a relationship can be successful or not. Im a taurus and my last serious relationship was with a Leo. Not the best match, to say the least... Mind you, after reading about the zodiac signs in the beginning of the relationship, it did give me an insight into what aspects of the relationship we would have to work on to compromise. I suppose, if you think about.. if you know the faults in the zodiac signs and why theyre not the 'best' of matches... it can help you work on the relationship if you really want it to be successful. My last relationship with the leo failed... and when I think back on it, mainly due to the very things the signs listed would be a problem!
Not that im now just looking for relationships that have the best likely matched zodiac sign to me... anyone can make or change their destiny. Its just kinda bizarre how sometimes the zodiac signs are spot on

lol Well I look at the zodiac for fun, but I would never rule by it. I believe sometimes that sometimes we all attribute to traits by our zodiac sign and sometimes in relationships things can be true like what the signs say.
lol but in the end of the day, it's how we both communicate.

Since hindsight is sometimes 20/20...looking back...highschool boyfriend (Scorpio), husband (Scorpio), first relationship after my husband (which ended after 5 months) (Scorpio) ! I see a pattern there!  Now I gotta go look see what the Zodiak says!

My point was, if it's possible that your zodiac sign can have an influence in your relationship, not saying that it is true or all should be believed.
I've had numerous relationships with Arians for example, and it never worked out. And when I used to be in these relationships, I wasn't even aware of astrology and such back then.
Only after a few years when I started to read some of the reports, I started to think perhaps that's why it never worked out.
Aries and Taurus do go well together but only as friends to an extend not in a relationship. But then again, not all guys born under this sign are like this. I guess I just met the wrong guys back then.
But, if you do read some of the compatibility reports, on Aries and Taurus for example, there are alot of points that could have been the reason for the breakup in the first place.
As I said before, I do not put my faith in these reports at all, I'm just amazed about the results sometimes.

| Hmmm I think it does have an impact on your relationship in terms of maybe how well you click "karma" wise if you believe in that sort of thing. However, even when I dated Scorpio's (supposedly the best match for Pisces) it was a HARD, DIFFICULT, STRESSFUL relationship. Why? B/c we grew up and had different values, goals, etc. so no even if the zodiac says your "compatible" there are so many things that come into play. To me though, I often look at the zodiac as things that I need to look for perhaps a relationship weakness or even a second opinion on the type of person I am dating.

You've put it so nicely Alone! Basically that's what I wanted to say...pff...my brain have been working over time this week..
But apart from that, I'm still doing ok in the love department...
Only problem at this stage...I have two Scorpios after me and believe me it's scary! According to the astrology reporst, if they want you, they get right down into hunting mode...and I'm afraid, it's true!
Although, I do fancy them...but the one whom I'm currently occupied with is more compatible in the sense of maturity...the other Scorpy on the other hand...well, he's just plain too fast for me!
But hey, nothing wrong with friendship...
I also want to thank everyone for their input here..I'm really amazed at the Poll results! In the end it all comes down to how real the love is between the two individuals.
But like Alone said, these reports can perhaps just show out the possible problems that may arise due to incompatibilities.
Anyways, this TaurusLady is going for the long run...and I say it again: if it's meant to be, it will be...

| I think sometimes zodiac signs can affect relationships, but dont always predict success or failure. i am a cancer, currently in love with a saggitarius. we are supposedly NOT compatible, but i have never met anyone as compatible with me as he is... i was married to another cancer for 13 years, and that one turned out VERY badly.

i dont believe in horoscopes or Zodiac signs. the character traits for each are so common that most people fit them (or like to think they do.)
i tend to believe that my boyfriend and i are together, not because we were pre-destined or have cosmically similar traits, but because we work damn hard at our relationship.
