Well let's see. I walked into the living room and simply said "Baby? I'm pregnant." He smiled even though he was scared to death. This second pregnancy I went and did the same thing, although this time it was a shock to us both. He is still in shock and our secnd son is due in a month today exactly.

When I was preggo with our first (we are trying for # 2)...he was the one that actually brought it up...he noticed over the span of a couple of weeks that he hadn't seen me wearing a maxi pad...that is usually a sure sign that I have my period...he would see me getting dressed in the morning or walking around our bedroom in my panties...and no pad...no period...so he asked me one night " Shouldn't you of gotten your period by now"...so that was the way he found out in a way...I told him that I wasn't sure what was going on...which was true...my period has always had it's own schedule...so I took a test a few days later told him it was a sure thing!

Well...took the test - positive. Went to the store, got 2 more tests...and i took one of those to make sure - still positive. (was the 4th of july weekend, July 2nd).

Went back to the store, got a cute pecifier (sp) and a cute pair of yellow/white baby shoes with duckies on them. Put them into a bag with the pregnancy tests and a card I created with my scrap book things saying "congratulations, daddy. We're pregnant!".

He came home late that night and I woke up once he got into the bed room. He asked me what that was on his pillow, and I told him to look into the bag. He took the things out one by one...and the questionmark on his face turned into shock, which really soon turned into a big smile and turned to me. The "Are you sure" question came up..and I suggested to take the last of the 3 PTs at that time - which of course was positive again. Well... he started calling family and friends in the middle of the night, waking everybody up to tell them we were going to be parents

His reaction could not have been better! Hes so excited!! I love it!

In my case, my sister in law noticed I had a little bump and made a comment but I said nahhh, not possible... My hubby actually ran to the room and brought me a pregnancy test that I had in one of my drawers and had me take it. I did and there it was... we had been trying for a while so we were both pretty excited!

Had ttc for over 18 months with no luck when he was sent TDY for 16 weeks. However, went in for my annual well-woman exam which happen to fall before missing perod #3, and 2 neg. home tests for prior 2 months, to find out that I was 11-1/2 weeks pg. Since I wanted to tell my hubby face to face, I had another 10 weeks to go (as he'd been goine 6 weeks already). I went to visit my sister who asked how long she was going to have to wait this time after dh got home for me to make her an aunt - "a year, 1-1/2, what? you're not getting any younger." I asked her what she thought about becoming an aunt in 27 weeks - she was extatic. Anyway, she was the only that knew. As I was over 35 and first preg, doctor scheduled an amnio for 16 weeks - I was pregnant with a wonderfully healthy little boy. Husband arrives home (22 weeks at this point)and though still able to wear my dress suits, was having to leave skirts unbuttoned but penned with safety pens. After dinner the night he arrived home, during which we talked about lots of things but not children, adoption, nothing, we went for a walk. He jokingly commented on how my breasts looked bigger than when he left, asked if I'd had implants while he was gone or was it the dress I was wearing?" "What, you don't like my dress?" (though they were slightly larger -32D as I was size 32A normally and I was always joking about getting implants) I said he was just starved for personal intimacy. As we returned home, I told him that "...we needed to talk since he didn't seem content with my appearance and he was going to have to take responsiblitiy for part of that." He had the most perplexed look on his face which made me want to laugh - it was priceless!! "You were goine, I was lonesome therefore I could blame you because I ate to take my mind off you being gone; but that wasn't the truth, though I did miss you quite a lot - I guess it's time to tell you the real reason you're responsible for my breasts looking bigger..." at which time I handed him a note inside which I'd written as if written by our son saying how glad he was his daddy was home so he could learn to recognize his voice and how his mommy was starting to need lower back rubs, etc. and what did his daddy think of his first sonogram picture, and the piture from the amnio (on which the technician had written "hi dad!") and the ultrasound from just the day before. Needless to say, dh was quite stunned.

Had gone to visit his mom and sister just three weeks prior to his arriving home as his grandmother was celebrating her 85th birthday. Both asked, like my sister, when we were going to give them a baby. I simply replied that "you just never know" because I didn't want them to know until I'd told him. They came up to visit 3 weeks after he got home for two weeks. In that week, almost as if over night, my slight little paunch went to a small cantalope sized belly. We didn't want to tell them the minute we got them at the airport, and since I was now more comfortable wearing pg clothes, I wore a pair of gym shorts and a large sweatshirt as if I'd just come from the gym on the way to the airport thus disguising the small bulge (and it really was small - not so big that people saw "pregnant lady" but big enough for someone to ask if you were pg. On the way home, we talked about one thing and another. Upon arriving home, while dh and mil and sil got luggage out, I ran inside and changed into a 1st trimester dress (and I'm 1 week short of starting third trimester so my small little bulge looked bigger than it really was in this snug fitting outfit). As if on que, my mil asked where I'd gone - my dh told her we had something to show her and I was just getting everything ready - at which time I walked out. Both were so very excited and started to cry happy tears. My mil did get a little upset with me later that evening for not telling her when I visited her 6 weeks earlier. Anyway, by the time she and sil let two weeks later, I definitely was the "pregnant lady coming" shape which exiceted them because ti made it real for them and closer (with only 11 weeks to go) than had I told them earlier and had longer to wait.

TTC #2 for several months when it was time for me to have my cholesterol checked. Dr. called with blood work and after telling me the good news about my cholesterol coming down, he congratulats me on the other good news, asked me to make an appt. to come in and get my prenatal vitamins, ultrasound, schedule an amnio, etc. Had had no symptoms, not unusual to miss several periods and have false negative home tests and asked why I'd not come in after missing 3 consecutive periods to confirm I wasn't pregnant and/or that there weren't other problems. What are you talking about? I was 13 weeks and found out the day after husband had been sent TDY again (this time only for 8 weeks). When I left him at the airport, the last thing he told me was "we're going to make a baby when I get home" - we both wanted another one so badly and but were so tired of trying. A fellow military service member was coming in on the same flight as dh so he offered to bring him home. I left work, beating him home, after stopping to buy a new maternity outfit - a dressy, can wear to work, 2-piece short set. As my due date was november, I would be pregnant, again, over the summer in Tidewater VA which is very hot, muggy, sticky, etc. thus misserable for a pregnant lady - and put the outfit on. He commented on it when he got home that he thought it was cute but it wasn't until I was loading the dishwasher that he asked if it were new. I told him it was and that I figured since he was partially responsible for making me suffer through another hot and humid summer, I was going to enjoy pampering myself. He gave me a confused look and it wasn't 'till I sat on his lap and told him I needed a lower back massage and then asked if hewas ready to get to work on singing to baby #2. He was excited and within a few days - it seemed like it was less than 3 - my belly popped out almost as if overnight.

I was always on time when it came to my period so when I was a month late I knew something was up. I took a test when my husband was out fishing and when it came back positive I burst into tears. More freaking out than happy, but that changed over time

I called my husband and told him he needed to come home. He asked if I took a test, I said yes, but that he needed to be here for it. I left it on the counter in the bathroom. It was the digital kind that said "PREGNANT". I told him to go into the bathroom and he looked on the counter and saw the positive test. He started screaming and yelling and saying how he couldn't believe we were having a baby!!

Now we're busy as can be preparing the nursery and we have a month to go....

Im crying at some of the ways you told your spouses. Im so emotional these days. I was two days late.. and thought that I should take a pregnancy test.. Ive been late before.. and it was negative.. so I thought "this time will prolly be negative as well, but atleast I wont wonder anymore". We were not trying to conceive... but we werent trying real hard not to either. Well it was positive.. instantly. I had taken it on my lunch break so I went the rest of the day.. in a daze really. I got a bag and some tissue paper and a bow and put the test in it.. with a dragonfly ring.. dragonfly stuff.. is our thing. After I met him.. and started to get to know him alot better.. I had gotten a dragonfly tatoo with the word "adore" in its tail.. for him.. He didnt know it at the time.. but yeah.. so anyways.. ofcourse he had to work late.. and by the time I could see him I was going crazy to tell him.. I can not keep something like that to myself.. plus all day I was wanting to tell EVERYONE I seen but wanted him to be the first ofcourse. So anyways.. we drove to the lake and I gave him his present.. he was shocked and happy.. and kissed me. Alot of our best memories took place at that lake... its where we held hands for the first time..where we got to know one another.. where he found out he was going to be a dad..and where he proposed.. I dont know what we'll do when we move away... find a new lake?

I had to tell DH over the phone We were taking leave before we PCS'd and I was already back home with friends and family. He still had a few days to go before he could get there b/c he had paperwork and outprocessing to do.

I was going to be going out with all my girlfriends for a Bachelorette party and I thought it would be best to know for sure if I was pregnant before I trashed myself LOL (We had also been trying for over a year). Lo and behold I took a test (3 tests actually haha) and they were all positive. I couldn't believe it.

He called a few days later because he had to fill out more paperwork. He said, "Okay, tell me if you took a test, I have to know if we are expecting on some of this paperwork." I was really bummed that I had to tell him over the phone because I had bought a onesie and kept the test to show in when he got into town a few days later. I wish I could have seen his face...but all the months we have gone so far have been perfect. Belly rubs and baby talk let me know how excited he is!

Took a test Thursday morning and didnt' believe it. Took a few more, still wasn't dark enough for me to believe. Took a digital and it said "pregnant" . I went to the mall and got a book called "just like daddy" and a cute onesie/sleeper with thumper on it. Put it in a bag and handed it to him, he was SO excited. We had been trying for 13 months.

I was home alone as was usual since my husband is in the army he's gone for 12 or so hours, when I decided to take the pregnancy test. I was 6 days late, which wasn't weird for me cuz my period was never on time so we both didn't think anything of it. When I saw it was positive I started to cry, I was so happy.

Unfortunately my hubby was out in the field that day, so when I called him ( I couldnt wait I took the test at 9am he didn't get home until 5pm) the reception on his phone was awful but I told him "baby, I'm pregnant" ...cuz of bad reception so all I heard was him saying he was so excited in and out. But when he got home that night he had bought me pink and blue flowers, a hershey's chocolate bar lol and a book called chocolate for the woman's soul. He's so adorable. He got in all the belly rubs he could before he left for deployment a few weeks after we found out...so now he tells me in emails or the off chance we get to talk online to tell the baby daddy loves him/her (we find out the 22nd yay!) and to give the baby extra rubs.

It's not easy not having him around during all this....

I was shocked when I was pregnant with my twin boys. How I told my hubby was he came home from work and I had a little teddy bear on our bed. He took a shower and didn't really think of it much. Once he got out of the shower he came running down the stairs and his eyes were lite up. He asked me are you sure? I said oh yeah definitley because I had took the test 3 times just to make sure. He was even more surprised than I was. We were both surprised when we found out we were having not one, but twins!!

When I was pregnant with our daughter. My hubby found out on his own. I took a pregnant test and left it in the trash can and he happened to look in the trash can and confronted me with it. We were thrilled when we found out it was going to be a girl!!

I am also pregnant again. My twins are now 7 years old and our daughter is 3 years old. My husband is on a business trip and doesn't get back until Sat. I bought shirts for the kids that say "Were gonna be a big brother or sister". When he comes and sees those shirts on his kids he will be very happy!!

well, after a few days late I decided since i was very tired a lot, sore boobs, nautious feeling, hungry a lot and peeing a lot took a test on friday night. It said it was positive almost immediately, well I decided to wait till the next day to grab 2 seperate brands and try again. Well, sure enough took 2 more tests and they came up positive before I even had the control up there. So, I called db at work and told him we are now a family of 6(he has 3 girls from a past marriage) He was in shock but happy and said that's great hun! let's talk about it when I get home.

I haven't take the test yet to fing out, due to short funding at the moment, but I have the way I'm going to tell him picked out already. I'm going to ask him to come into the bedroom and point to the location I want to put the crib at and say "we need to clear this area soon, so that there is a spot for something small but cute." I can re-post later with what he says if anyone would like to know.

My period was late and I had handed a pregnancy test in to my GP and was expecting the results 2 days later. My husband knew and we rang for the results together to be told that there was some problem with the test and I had to hand in another.
I couldnt wait another 2 days so I bought a home test kit and did it myself. My husband wasnt speaking to me at the time (some silly argument). I just sat beside him and told him he couldnt be angry with me because I was going to have his baby. That soon broke the silence!!!
