This probably sounds odd, but I've always been interested in baby names. I actually have a theory regarding personality and names, and one day I'd like to study it further. But for the time being, just was interested in what everyone has named their children, future children, or dreams of naming there children when they get pregnant, also what brought you to those names?

For me, I was looking at naming a future child Hannah Faye, but my boyfriend used to have a girlfriend named Anna, and as stupid as it sounds Hannah and Anna are too close together.

My boyfriend and I picked the name Faye together, it's from a Japanese Animation called Cowboy Bebop, so our first Daughter will either be named Faye something or something Faye.

I've always loved the name Abaigail also.

For a boy I like Lucas, Joshua, Jonathan, Jacob.

Well my kids are Madaylyn Brodie and Mia. Our first born we had a name picked right from the word go. Even though we had no ultrasound confirmation we had a hunch she was a girl so we didnt even have a boys name picked. As for the other two Brodie was supposed to be Joshua but I spotted a not very nice type yelling out her sons name across 4 supermarket isles and quickly changed my mind, he was almost 2 days old before he had a name. He was to be Cassidy-Rae if he was a girl. My 3rd Mia I picked from a magazine I read and it was the editors name and I fell in love with it. It wasnt very popular back then, she was to be Harrison if she was a boy.

These were the names we agreed on but not the names I really liked. Although I do love their names. I really liked Pru and because Mia is a December baby I wanted Holly or Noelle but hubby hated them. Boys names I liked were Seth, Gage or Darcy. He put his foot down again. As much as I liked Darcy our surname also starts with a D and it kind of sounded weird so I wouldnt have picked it.

We plan on naming our first daughter Shelby Rayne, and our first son Dante Micheal. Everyone that has heard that has told us they don't sound good together or anything, but we love the names. As for where we got them, well a lot of people laugh at it, but Shelby Rayne is chosen from a movie and video game Shelby is from the movie Gone In 60 Seconds, the 1967 Shelby Mustang and Rayne is from the video game BloodRayne. Dante Micheal is from a video game and one of my fiancee's names, Dante is from the game Devil May Cry and Micheal is one of his names. I had to argue my point on that one, my fiancee wanted our son to be named Dante Virgil, but I just didn't like it and I didn't want to name our son with two names from the same game I would have gone with a different name from anything but not Virgil. And yes we play a lot of video games, so it's not too suprising we liked names out of games to us.

Our little girl is Ciera Roseann. DH always liked the name Sierra, but we wanted a different way to spell it. If we had a boy we liked Odin, but everyone made fun of it. So we desided on Devlin if our second child is a boy. We're not sure about another girl name though.

Our daughter's name is Julia Elizabeth. I really wanted a name that was pretty, classic and would age well and Julia fit the bill. I've loved the name for awhile. My husband wasn't sure about it at first, but eventually it grew on him. And we both agree that it suits her. Elizabeth is a name that we thought sounded nice with Julia plus it's my sister's name (my sister is also going to be her godmother) so it has meaning.

We also liked the names Amelia and Grace, so I could see us using one of those names if we ever have another girl.

As for boy's names, I really like Noah at the moment. I also like Luke, Grant and Ethan. But my favorite boy's names always change. My husband and I both have trouble committing to one. We couldn't agree on one when I was pregnant (good thing we had a girl!). However, we do know that if we ever have a son, we're going to use my husband's first name (Christopher) as our son's middle name.

Hi, my daughter is named Dani.

We didnt have much time to pick a name so we both looked into a name book and this was the only name we both liked. So we decided on dani for a girls aswell a boy. A day before she was born we decided to change the biysname to Daan (dutch name, im dutch), but it turned out to be a girl.

I like it cos its a short name and it really suits my daughter.

I think that it is important to name your children after the latest hot Hollywood celebrity. That way your child can be assured of being one of six kids with that name in his/her class once he/she reaches school age.

Your child will be lumped together with the other kids whose parents main focus in life is the latest Hollywood buzz. This will reduce the chance that you child is distinctive in any way and maybe even develop his/her own individual personality.

Honestly, Another_guy, different decades have different popular names. It happens. It's not a brand new occurrence. People TRY to come up with unique distinctive names and even when they succeed, other couples see the novelty in those names and use them on their own children. What are ya gonna do?

On that note, there are some names I absolutely won't name my children. No Stephanie, no Jennifer, no Jessica. No John, no Ethan, no David, no Michael.

The names I DO like MAY be seen to be way overused, but so what? I have my reasons. I like the name Karin. It's my grandmother's name and she is one of the most incredible women I have ever known. She has raised me very well since I was a toddler and I owe everything that is good about me to her guidance. I also like the name Ann. I think it is beautiful and simple, that's all. I always wanted Clover as a middle name for a girl; maybe as a way to wish my daughter luck in life, I'm not sure.

For a boy, I always liked Luke. I actually associate Luke with the apostle, who was an artistic and eloquent man. I also like Gabriel, after the archangel. I am open to giving a son a Russian name also, as long as it's not Alex or Nick. You wouldn't believe how sick I am of those two names. They are ultra popular in my family.

Sweet names you've alll picked out.

TwighlightLuv: Nothing wrong with videogame character names. Our first born will probably be named from a game, movie, anime, or book.

Bluemoon: I like the name Luke too, but I always reminds me of Luke from the soap General Hospital.

Well for the longest time I always said that if i had a daughter I was going to name her Charley..but I didn't know what I would put with it. When I got pregnant it was the weekend here than hurricane Charley blew thru here. I told my husband...we were only dating at the time..that I hada feeling that hurriane Charley was an omen...and monday morning after he left to go back to his military base...I discovered I was ovulation..so that made my suspicion even worse...and sure enough...I got pregnant that weekend. We couldn't figure out what name to use with Charley and I decided that I liked Carina better..which means dear little one..and my husbands grandmother had just passed away and his mom and grandmother share a name..so we gave her that middle name..Rose...well it was first going to be Rosalie..which means little rose garden...but my familiy didn't like it...but then they told us she was going to be a boy..so we picked out Caleb Dylan for the boy...but she popped out a girl and we stuck with Carina..and shortened her middle name to the same as her grandmothers...Rose. And the more she grows the more that name suits her.

We have Tyler Scott (Scott is my husband first name). We didn't have any other boy name to consider. We picked out Cali Nicole for a girl, then I started to hate it--and changed it to Maddison Layne. We didn't use it obviously, because we had a boy.

lol, my husband and I are Michael and Kristyn.

When I miscarried a few years ago it was a girl, i was 5 months along so they were able to tell me, and I named her Faith, which was a name I had always wanted to name a girl.

Girl names I like are Holly, Mykaela, April, Morgan and Robyn.

boy names I like are Nathan, Eric, Darryl, Derek and Tyler.

I know I have pretty average names, but I cant imagine naming my child something that people raise their eybrow to and look at me like I was on drugs when I named them..lol

No apples or coco's for me..lol

Well my boys are named Brogan and Kaidyn. Brogan I have never heard of and I do not want my children being like every other child in there class. It think it also sounds tough. Kaidyn I really didn't hear too much either. I would love to name the baby we are pregnant with Itixy. But my husband says that sounds like a stripper name. So we are going with Haeven Lari. Lari is my middle name, so that is nice. But it's Brogan James, and kaidyn Coal. I love the fact that someone else mentioned Brogans name, I think it is very unique, it's irish. So good luck! If anyone else thinks Itixy is a good name, please say so!!
