I love this quote, truer words never spoken. To realize the absolute selfless nature of love is to truly experience it.
I don't think theres any topic which has been more extensively written about than love, and rightfully so. But ultimately, after everything has been said and pieces of wisdom have been accumulated as to what love is, I think one comes to the realization that the substance which bestows our experience of love with its sublime and divine nature is the understanding that describing love is fundamentally unsayable to begin with. If it was sayable, then we would have fully understood it, and if we fully understand what love is, doesn't it take something away from its ethereal nature - the very thing which makes our experience of love so beautiful? Thus it is the very ineffability of love which grants its sacred place as the ultimate meaning of existence. For what meaning can we derive from our existence if not for love?
I think the closest we can ever come to articulating love would be in the arts. Poetry, literature, music etc... its what makes these mediums of expression so crucial to being human.

"I am persuaded that every time a man smiles - but much more so when he laughs - it adds something to this fragment of life."
- Laurence Sterne
"Wherever your life ends, it is all there. The advantage of living is not measured by length, but by use; some men have lived long, and lived little; attend to it while you are in it. It lies in your will, not in the number of years, for you to have lived enough."
- Michel de Montaigne
