Do you have any special summer plans or goals? Could be a vacation, a local activity, hobby or even just a change of habit.

Here are some of mine:

*go watch the free outdoor fireworks that happen twice a week over the waterfront in my city.

*watch "Downton Abbey" on Netflix.

*read the copy of "Midnight's Children" that my husband bought me two Christmases ago- ideally on the beach

*go to an outdoor music concert at least once.

I'm hoping to go to either Sweden or Greece later in the summer. There's an amusement park in Goteborg I want to go to. Greece would be more for a relaxation type of vacation. Still haven't made up my mind yet though. What I am really excited for though is next summer since I'm planning to go to the US Midwest for storm chasing, Cedar point Ohio for some thrills, and then Vegas.

Great topic, so many activities in mind but with the heat, for now I just want to stay inside with the AC on....

-I really want to go to Vegas this summer. With the ban on online gambling, I haven't played poker in ages, can't wait!

-To read more literature, preferably novels written by women, any recommendations would be great.

-Travel the country and visit various Occupy encampments

Planning to go to San Diego

Want to get back into running shape and fit in general

I would like to take advantage of the weather and swim more

I want to organize my stuff and clean my apartment little by little by the end of summer

I have two novels I plan to read this summer

Finish a good chunk of my story work and keep attending classes and critiques

Thats about it...try to stay out of trouble, get a few massages and relax more.

I miss you American poker players so much! If there is one thing I can't tolerate, it's getting donked by a Southern European or South American fool! I can't wait until this stupid ban is lifted so I can have some opponents that actually know what they are doing. Hey, if you're ever interested in at least playing for play money on PS, send me a message.

Oh man I definitely have to play you one of these days. I used to have a lot of play money chips on full tilt but they don't even allow you to use play money anymore wtf

Dry heat is more tolerable than humid heat. Most people I know in Nevada and parts of northern Africa loathe east coast humidity.

I heard that a thousand times from everyone and I disagree. They are both miserable, just in different ways

At least in humid heat when the wind blows its COOLING. In dry heat when the wind blows its like a blow dryer blowing in an oven. The only advantage to dry heat is when you go in the shade its 1O degrees cooler and there arent any misquitos trying to eat your face off.

This is the second year I have lived in the desert and it gets hot enough to break our air conditioner at work. 3 times in the past 2 weeks the A/C broke. Bastards!

I can't wait for October.
