| Hey everybody! I just returned from seeing the Adjustment Bureau, and I really liked it. It is the kind of movie that makes me ponder life. So I have a question I want to pose to the LYC community to generate some discussion about it. Are our lives comprised of several paths we can take (free will), all which lead to a different ultimate destination- thus saying we determine the outcome of our lives? Or are our lives comprised of only one path with several detours (free will), all of which lead back to one ultimate destination, thus saying our lives are predetermined?

| The books that tell us about past lives and future lives, say we choose the life and issues we did not deal with in past lives for our future life. It is a way to finally deal with our issues. We choose our death also. So that would make our lives pre-determined mostly.

Personally I see this more in like the lounge or something but I believe we have the ability to choose different ultimate destinations.
I really believe that veering off the path in a different manner could provide different outcomes. From choosing partners, to making dramatic life decisions like getting involved with the military, or doing nothing at all. When you change courses, several options become unavailable.
Now some paths are easier than others and it will stand out because of its ease to float down that path (or as my dads girlfriend likes to call it "being right behind the boat"]. Usually those paths are better suited in your life and help you get to places you need to succeed, but if you never venture down those paths you will never open those opportunities. Some paths have much more opportunities than others to excel.
Regardless, I think life is too random to be predetermined. With some many outside factors effecting your life, it seems less likely you could only have one predetermined path besides ultimately death (which we are all heading towards...its just a matter of WHEN].
