I feel that pressure sometimes come about in a marriage because forums like this seem to give off a skewed view on what people do in their bedroom. I'm all for oral sex, love to give & don't receive as much as I'd like ( about 4 times a year ) and its not through to completion.
I find that it bothers me much much more after reading through the posts on here. The poll Ive proposed I feel may help others who come here looking for answers to discover that not everyone gives oral & that's OK as well. But I guess we will see. I may just be an outsider after all

We've always known with each other that she prefers receiving oral to giving and she knows I don't mind either way. So it's become common practice for her to receive oral regularly. Half the time before we have intercourse, the other half is just a lot of oral for her and nothing else. She occasionally gives me oral but our sex life is pretty good overall and the fact we have sex regularly means I don't completely miss out. I know she's a tiny bit selfish in bed but I've found it also makes her horny acting like this and I find her attractive enough anyway so I've sort of got used to being the giver most of the time.
Funny thing is, in everyday life she acts demure, well behaved and reserved so people think it's all equal but when indoors and alone, she enjoys herself fully

| Interesting thread. You make a really good point. I admit the stuff I read here in LYC has an effect on my bedroom manner. Without question, this has been both good and bad, depending on your POV. I have learned better things on pleasing her through this forum but the flipside is I am nuts about oral sex and swallowing. So that creates a challenge for some poor ladies out there. No one is ever forced to do it of course, but as the OP points out there seems to be a disconnect between what is reported here and the sex lives of a good many people. I like the idea of always expanding sexual boundaries and I think more education can only make us all better. Unfortunately some people (me included) are pretty set on their boundaries, so even being educated and part of LYC has limitations. Interesting thread nevertheless. I sure hope we aren't creating legions of bitter men who can't find what seems to be common in LYC!

I give to my husband about three or four times each week, but I've never received. That is okay though, because he does other things that make me happy!
He will let me snuggle close in his arms all night long, he'll hold my hand, and he has very sweet kisses. I still know that he cares even if he isn't comfortable giving oral sex. And, I am always more than happy to take care of him when he wants it.

My wifeband I have been married 7 years. We're really not what I would consider "wild". So, for oral sex. I perform oral on my wife much more often than she does on me and I am very happy. I love giving her oral. She orgasms from oral much more often than from intercourse. I of course like receiving too and she performs oral on me about 1/3 to 1/2 as often as I do on her, but she almost always stops before I cum. We'll then have intercourse and I'll cum inside her. I'm mostly ok with this, but honestly would like her to bring me to orgasm in her mouth at least a little more often.
Overall:
I probably give her oral 6-10 times per month and she has an orgasm 90-100% of the time.
She gives me oral maybe 4-6 times per month and I cum in her mouth probably once every other month.

Its certainly interesting reading the responses here and CT your right with the forum having a positive & negative effect. Ive also learnt how to be better for my wife on here, but I feel that it does breed trouble as well. For example reading all the posts from women who love to go down on their man, and particularly when they say they do it to 'look after him' can make one who doesn't get if often or at all feel like their SO doesn't look after them or love them.
Daveyjones, sunshine&smiles & jack it sounds like your relationships are really well balanced & that's whats its all about in the end, I admire the fact that you can see where the balance comes in to what you do for them.

We both enjoy oral and both give or receive whenever either of us want. Whether one is pleasing the other or just having a little self indulgence we seem to always click. I receive oral more than my wife, if one was keeping score, but it just kind of flows with the moment.
An interesting concept is to remember we all have "endeavors" that we would like and tend to view as "that lucky guy/couple." What I mean is for me it might be a threesome. Sure I fantasize about it all the time and may read about others trying it but my wife says, "not gonna happen!"
To others it's oral or anal or whatever. So when we read these polls keep in mind one may be reading about a very small piece of the pie.

Yes clearly there is "selection bias" on these forums. It's well described in the scientific literature as in:
If you do not select a truly random sample, then the results of any study/survey/poll will be biased. Clearly the people on this forum are into sex/etc, so it is not a random sample.
I feel pretty safe saying that the average guy and girl have less sex, less oral, are less adventurous, less open, less (pretty much everything that's discussed on these forums) that what you read here.

I wouldn't want to be with a man who didn't like going down on me. & if he wasn't willing to give.. then he wouldn't be receiving.
It's a two way street. Thankfully, I've never been in that position.. but it kind of bothers me when people tell me that their partners won't go down on them.. and yet they expect it to be done for them. That's selfish.
