Anyone see it? The third installment was great- I definitely enjoyed it. Specially all the shirtless parts lol!

I hear part 4 is going to be cut into two parts- seems totally unnecessary in my opinion. How are they going to make that book fit into 2 movies? Not a lot goes on IMO.

Splitting it into two movies is simply a ploy to maximize profits and make money. Nothing more. They'll find a way to milk this series for everything it's worth.

I haven't seen any of the movies except the very first one. I like to say my wife tricked me, actually. She told me it was this cool vampire flick with lots of good action. Little did I know it was actually a sappy chick flick that drives women from ages 10-60 wild.

I think the third movie was better than the second. I keep a movie blog of what I've seen and here's my opinion on Eclipse:
"Eclipse had many good things in it. I would rate it a 8 out of 10 because there were some parts that we boring-such as Bella and Edwards talk on the bed about her turning into a vampire-too slow of dialogue for me. I loved the action scenes-particularly when the big fight scenes at the end happened, in the beginning when Victoria was being chased by both sides, and the tent scene was my favorite of all though-unfortunately they left out the part where Edward threw Jacob against the tent wall but that's to be expected. The vampires that were killed, they made them all seem like they were made of glass instead of stone, which is different than the book describes. Overall though, I think it was definitely better than the second movie and tied with the first. The final movie will be next year, so we will see which movie part is the best of all 4 then. "

Two things really disappointed me in the movie...

>>> I didn't like the way they changed the scene where Edward, Seth, Victoria and Riley are fighting and Bella cuts herself. Thought I'm glad they included the story of the third wife, it's just silly that Edward would be in mortal danger. I'm guessing it was changed because they didn't really spend enough time with Seth to get people attached to him who hadn't read the books. Still, it felt weird and wrong to me.

I also didn't appreciate the scene where Bella tells Edward that he isn't the only reason she wants to become a vampire. The books are about her love for Edward and how she wants to be a vampire only to be with Edward, though throughout the books she does say that she doesn't relate well to people her age and that the only people she can relate to are mythical creatures but she never makes the statement " you're not the only reason" in the books. For me that statement in the movie totally went against Bella's character and the dynamics of their relationship.
<<<

I loved Jasper and Rosalie's back stories. I thought the fight scenes and special effects were excellent. The music didn't impress me. I would have liked to see more Charlie and some remorse from Bella after >>> kissing Jacob <<< (in my opinion, they could have casted a better Bella than Kristin.) I had expected a little more Bree than what we got. LOVED Alice and Jasper's play/fighting!

... I think that's all. :-)

Deathly Hallows is a book deserving of making into two movies. In fact, it is the only way to do it justice. I can sum up breaking dawn in less than two minutes of conversation, or a paragraph of text.

Eclipse is ok I suppose. I can see the appeal for the ladies. But I would expect from those who are fond of literature to see these films as something that catters to female fantasy rather than epic story telling.

This is how I see it too. I think it's somewhat entertaining, but I don't really find myself overly attached to it. I found the first movie pretty lame; I was cringing in most places. I just don't think I like the character of Edward full stop really. But the idea of the series is entertaining enough, so I have read the books/seen the movies.

I totally agree with you about Deathly Hallows too. There isn't really much in that book that you can cut out, without it not really making much sense. Two movies is necessary in that instance. With Breaking Dawn... well, it's thick... but there's not really much substance to it.

The unfortunate thing about Deathly Hallows is that even though there isn't too much you can really leave out, so much of it has been set up by the events from the previous books. Many of which, are from parts that have been changed, or omitted. So if you've only seen the movies, there are going to be quite a few plot holes that will leave viewers confused, oblivious, or they will just have to accept what is going on.

We'll see how it turns out next month. I cannot wait, and this movie is going to kill anything that has come out this year in total gross.

Oh, definitely. So many things that seemed unnecessary in the other books now play an important role in DH. The fact that they've seen that the final book needs two movies is at least a positive sign. I can't wait either .

Yeah I was disapointed in how they removed some elements from part 4 and changed it around- it's like HELLO you guys ruined the mystery of part 4! The big reveal was basically revealed less than 10 minutes in the movie vs the last few pages of the book!

I hope they do part 7 justice. I did like part 6 a lot.

But yeah- Eclipse does not need 2 movies.

Seriously all that happens is >> they prepare for a battle- then nothing happens cuz they "talk" it out

It was LAME. I hated the ending.
