sound like you may want to consult an immigration attorney?

| My friend came to U.S using student visa and studied here until she graduated and granted 1 year temporary working visa. Before her working visa expired, she got married and filed for green card right away. so her and her now husband just tried to get married BEFORE the visa was expired so that way, she didn't have to apply another type of visa and just headed to green card.

Just to give an update, for anybody following this thread. My love and I were married on July 9th  He's currently in Europe working a contract job, and his company in PA granted him an H1-B visa, and he returns to the US around mid-January, where we'll live together for a while, plan our 'real' wedding (only my parents and a few close friends were present for the first one, and we still want to go through the engagement/wedding planning process), and settle in. I'm counting down the days until I see him...I'm flying there December 13th and couldn't be more excited. 43 more days!
