I sent my husband care package too atleast twice a month.
I only send him the stuff the he likes and not just some random stuff. And i got a compliment of being the "Best wife" for it
My soldier said that he's roomate got jealous at him because the stuff on his packages are the stuff he really likes and not like his roomates that their wives send them random things.
His packages usually get there from 8-10 days.

I looove sending my sweetheart care packages. Before I deployed, I sent him a box with one of my PT shirts (clean, he asked for it, and he's sending me one SOON =D), babywipes (very very useful), beef jerky (beef jerky is REALLY good for deployments if he goes on patrols), a pillow I made with the shirt and a pair of panties slipped over it * * lol...I baked him cookies, sent him some Valentine's day candy (his favorites), a big loofa, and a heating pad. I put little messages on all the items (example: I put "Undress me" on the pillow and t-shirt). He LOVED it.
The last one I sent him, since he hasn't been eating well, had those little "Compl-eats" and I put together little lunches including one of those, a pudding pack, some jolly ranchers, a spoon, and a fork. I bought him a teddy bear that says "Somebody in the Air Force loves me" and I sent some icy/hot, tylenol, and a bunch of love letters and our song.
Baby wipes, icy/hot, jerky, hygeine items, your picture, anything to remind him of you that he can bring with him on missions...he'll love it
Don't be afraid to make it a little girly. He'll probably be made fun of a bit, but he'll love it, I promise. Spray your perfume on it, seal it with a kiss...little gestures to remind him of you...it'll brighten his day.

I wanted to send an American hero/heroin a care package but was not able to get their address. Obviously, they were being smart in not giving it out and I was being pigheaded in pushing for it (it's not the first time for that).
So, I'm sure you all know this already, but anyway...
Walmart.com has a gift card that can be sent to an email address. It is MUCH safer to give a stranger the email addy instead of troop location info.
The receiver can even give the card to someone else if they would like. After all, it's a care package that shows we care.

| I bought my SO a sandcastle kit before he left...(shovel, pail, etc.) since he always referred to his deployment as the "sand box." He thought it was hilarious, and it gave us both a much needed laugh before he left. I bought it for him before, instead of sending it in a care package just because I know they don't have a lot of room to keep stuff.
