Hello,
So you know who you truly are? I mean, absolutely who you are; I don't. You know all that I am looking for a bf and lately I have been wondering how can someone like myself have a so when they are unsure of who they truly are.
I recently decided to stop letting my brain do the work and follow my heart, my instincts. But I am curious, do you really know the true you? I am wondering how can I have a relationship when I don't know who I truly am.

And you are suppose to discover through life's ups and downs who you are. It's a never ending discovery. To add to the difficulty of it all, who you are will also change as you grow in age. I am nothing like I was when I was 20-30 or even who I was 5 years ago when I was 40.
Knowing who you are and knowing what you want is 2 different things.
Knowing who you are is knowing your weaknesses and strengths, your likes and dislikes, what ticks you off, what pleases you and the only way of knowing this is by experimenting.

| When you get to be my age (47), you know that there is always more to know about yourself. I've learned a lot about myself over the years and am more aware of the things that Gail has listed above. You are always evolving, always learning. You will have make many mistakes a long the way, but that is how you learn. You don't need to know what you are all about before you get into a relationship. This is one step in learning more about yourself, so go for it!

When I graduated from high school at 17, I didn't know what to do with my life. I lived in the same small town I was born in, and in the same house. I had the same friends I had since kindergarten even. I didn't know if the choices I made (from the music I listened to...to the clothes I wore) were really my own choices or the result of influences around me. So I packed my bags, got on a plane, and flew to another state, far, far from my home. It was there where I finally got to come out of my own shell.
So if that is a problem for you, I suggest going off on your own, to someplace new.

It took me 42 years to figure out the Who of myself
That was when I realized I'm trans, and the Who of me is an awesome guy who just happens to be hidden (for now) behind a female costume (that I hope to start converting in the next month or so). I just took a laid back "Let's eee how this unfolds" approach and watched this new self develop. Quite fascinating, and I do like Me
