Were you alone, or with a friend? - Alone.
Did you pay in cash or with credit card? - Cash; I didn't own a credit card back then! I was around 19.
Was the salesperson from the same or opposite gender as you? - Same gender.

We've shopped together but only at places with a more female orientated clientele and usually run by a lady. We don't like the run of the mill sex shops. There's too much hard-core porn in there and the guys behind the counter are usually seedy and scary.
We never pay by credit card
Bought videos, lingerie, toys, cuffs, lubes, books, games, novelties - just about everything.
We prefer shopping than ordering online. We're not worried about bumping into anyone we might know - the shops we usually go to are popular with girls shopping for hen's party gifts so if we ever bump into someone we know, we just say either he's shopping for a gag/novelty for his mate's bachelor party or I'm shopping for a friend's Hen party.
We've bumped into close friends and then it's just a laugh.
It's no big deal.

I bought a vibrator once, but I has very tame about it - it's really difficult to go into a sex shop and buy a 10 incher so I got the 6 incher not to have weird looks at me...
Nowadays some sex shops have real pictures and multiple angles so it's even better then a live sex shop 'cuz you can take things out of the package. Look on http://www.theadulttoyshoppe.com/ where you can see the vibrator from the side, back and underneath giving you a 360 degree perspective you can;t see this in a real sex shop. It's a better view anyway.
Even though the sex shop worker is probably kinkier then all pf us put together, I still don't want a stranger looking at what I'm going to put in my vagina.
Now that my rant is over, I only buy from a sex shop if it's a gift and there is no time left to have something shipped to me like on Christmas eve.
