Pre Meeting Jitters? Advice? posted: 04/19/06 at 3:34 PM

Ok, I've been talking to my online love interest for about 7 months or so. We've talked at least 5 hours a day, every day the entire time we've known eachother. We hit it off really well immediately, but it took both of us about 4 1/2 months to admit our feelings for eachother.
I'm getting on a plane tommorow and flying 1400 miles to meet her tommorow. I'm not really nervous as how can it be different in person, when I can, and have, talked to this girl for 12 hours on the phone in a single sitting? We text message constantly (3000+ a month) when we can't talk on yahoo, or on the phone. I had to get a 2nd cell phone for this girl (yay unlimited cingular to cingular).
She's my soulmate, and I know this. She knows everything about me, and I know everything about her. I feel lost when I don't talk to her for like 2 hours, and miss her alot.
Is it different in person? I guess I am a little nervous, have some pre meeting jitters. We've both seen photos of eachother, so I'm not worried about the looks thing. Like we're very affectionate over the phone and everything, hows that going to change in person?
I guess I know everythings going to be cool, but still. I'm staying for 4 nights and 5 days. I'm meeting her parents ect. and we have plans to fly home and meet my parents in july.
Guess I'm just looking for some first meeting stories and some words of encouragement I guess.
btw: we met on eharmony. I joked that we should do commercials for them, but she'll have none of that LOL

| Keep a positive attitude. There are so many success stories of those who finally met his/her face to face. Go and check out Hugo's thread...you'll see what I mean. Good luck. Wishing you the best to you and your love.

It will be a little 'weird' the first day or two. I mean, here's this person that you know so well, but yet you are strangers.
But, after that.. you won't even be able to tell that you just 'met'!
If you've spent that much time online together and been truely honest with each other, then odds are, it will be wonderful.
You'll still be getting to know each other, but now you'll be learning the little day to day things that you can't learn online.
Have a great trip!!

well i'm sitting at the airport now. Crazy how 3 months ago I never thought this day would get here, and now it has. In like 6 hours I'll get to hug her for the first time. This is a very strange nervous/excited feeling.
Worth mentioning is all my friends and even my own family (mom especially) all think this is a great idea. No one has ever said anything negative about this. Should be wonderful!
