Thanx for sharing!! I just adopted a soldier from each of those sites the other day. I'm sooo excited! hehe!!
I found another one too. You don't have to adopt if you don't want to. You can just be pen-pals with some of them. That way you won't have to feel like you need to send the soldier a package.

| I adopted two soldiers, one from each site, I am also very excited to do this, ... I am sure with time I will find out how important it is to have support from home as I am planning to enlist in the Army in the fall. Thank you so much for sharing these sites, I had been looking for sites to adopt soldiers but all of them say that they can't give out personal info and I kind of gave up until I saw your comment. Thank you!

Hi guys,
Just to say keep up writing - I just kept sending letters to my US soldier via Soldier's Angels (I'm UK!) and two months after the first letter, got my first reply - it had taken about a month and a half just to get from Iraq to here!!!! I've published excerpts of his letters on my blog, which is detailed below, and he's just so sweet ... he really wants me to send him British stuff so, so far, he's had a lot of postcards but this week he's getting his first full care package of British food and goods ... it's going to cost A LOT to get to the US (they then forward it via the US military post). Now I'm running a recruiting drive amongst my UK friends to start writing to soldiers too ...
I seem to spend my life in post office queues, as my fiance's in Iraq too!! The guys in the post office must think I've got two men on the go at the same time

It's BRILLIANT, isn't it? Feel v. lucky.
It actually gives me just as much of a happy feeling when I hear from Marcus (US adoptee) as when I hear from Paul (my fiance!)
Just an update .... I sent Marcus a british care package last week, with everything from an English newspaper to a corny london bus keyring ... I hope he sees the funny side of some of the really tacky things as I just wanted to make him laugh. He is SOOO thoughtful writing back though!! Now I think I'm going to buy one of the soldiers' angels T-shirts from the website in the hope that more UK people ask me what it's all about. Paul's mum and sister are about to adopt too
