Animal lovers across Britain were outraged today after it emerged scientists were sewing up kittens’ eyes for a shocking experiment.
More than 30 kittens were used in tests funded by taxpayers to find out how the brain responds to sensory deprivation.
All of them were put down after the study. Five had their eyes sewn closed for up to a week.

I'd like to know what everyone thought about this. Is it acceptable in your opinion even if it means that it could possibly lead to a cure for children that are born with lazy eyes that can potentially blind them?
I voted 'no' in the article and would like to know what's your thought since I found plenty of people voted 'yes' in the other forum where I originally found the article.

I'm a vegetarian and against killing animals *unnecessarily*.
I think it's utterly hypocritical when meat eaters get up on arms over scientific experiments which save human lives, and then go home in their fur coats, leather shoes, and eat steak.
